It’s Time to Discover – or Rediscover – the Power of Paint

Once upon a time, you sat clutching an assortment of colored markers in your tiny hands. In front of you stretched a blank canvas. The fact that this canvas was in fact your parents’ living room wall meant nothing to you. All you noticed was what seemed like miles of unmarked territory, waiting for your touch. You could barely contain your excitement as you touched marker to drywall, your joy barely contained as you watched the blues, reds, yellows and greens spread from what seemed like your fingers and across the vast surface. Not even the timeout that followed could dim your joy; you’d discovered the power of paint. Wouldn’t you love to get that feeling back?

Let the Journey Begin…Again

We at Ace Paints are starting this blog as a way to help you rediscover the transformative power of paint. That overwhelming joy and sense of satisfaction that you experienced when you noticed how color can transform a space is still within you, and we can help you express it in new ways. You already know how passionate we are about paint, and we understand that many of you share that same passion. Paint can turn something unloved into something adored. It can turn a room you close the door on into one that has its doors flung open all the time. Some of you may love the idea of transforming your home through color, but you’re hesitant about treading into waters you’re not entirely comfortable in. Maybe you aren’t sure about which paints work best on laminate cabinets. Or maybe you’re wondering about how one actually goes about painting metal! It’s all out there. Through pictures, stories and how-tos, we can help you take your world from boring to alluring.

Paint: It’s Not Just for Walls Anymore

In this age of recycling, re-using and re-gifting, using color to transform a simple piece of furniture into something entirely new has become a must-do. In the past, you may have received Aunt Gertrude’s hand-me-down vintage secretary desk. You may have been grateful and you probably really needed it, but you were secretly disappointed that its antique bones didn’t match your mid-century decor. Then you read an article where someone with a similar piece of inherited furniture and similar design tastes transformed that piece of bland furniture into a modern masterpiece using nothing but sandpaper, a couple of brushes and a can of citron-colored paint.

Are You Ready?

Get your coffee, fair trade organic tea, or whatever it is that gets you going, and slip into your coziest slippers. We’ll be back with tons of new content that will help you get it all together. Whether grey makes your day or blue is your hue, we can help you rediscover your inner muse so that you can create the space that brings you and your family joy. Whether you want to stain, paint, shellac or put a bird on it, we’ll help you figure it out.
