The weather is cooling off, there’s a scent of cinnamon bread baking in your oven and the grocery stores are stocking pumpkins. That’s right. It’s fall. In celebration of this beautiful time of year, we’re posting our favorite fall paint colors of 2015. These autumn-inspired hues are available for sale at Ace Paint and Unfinished Furniture.

Benjamin Moore: Carter Plum

Sophisticated, upscale and just a little bit sassy, Benjamin Moore’s Carter Plum is the kind of color that you expect to see in a formal room decorated for entertaining guests. Carter plum has a hint of brown in it, which is what makes this color one of our top picks for fall. We picture Carter Plum on the walls of a tea room decorated with soft leather furniture and a cat lounging in a patch of sun. For a more modern and less casual look, try combining Carter Plum with shades of crisp white and gentle gray.

Benjamin Moore: Timothy Straw

Mostly golden but with a hint of grayish-green, Timothy Straw tips its hat to dry grass, seasoned firewood and other outdoor things you see at harvest time. Use Timothy Straw in public rooms of the house, like the living room, dining room or the kitchen. In a modern space, combine Timothy Straw with a shade of white and a deep, cool brown. For a warmer, homier look, pair Timothy Straw with a cream and gentle beige.

Benjamin Moore: Portland Gray

You know those cool days of late fall, when the clouds cover the sky and the temperatures drop and the chill winds start to blow? Benjamin Moore’s Portland Gray is reminiscent of that time of year when the ground is permanently damp and the air smells sweet like moss and piles of raked dry leaves. It’s also incredibly versatile. This attractive neutral is perfect for hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. Dress it up or dress it down with whatever decor suits your style.

Ralph Lauren: Baja Orange

We’re of the opinion that Ralph Lauren made a great paint when they created Baja Orange, but the company picked the wrong name. This paint is so big, so bold, so warm and sweet, it should be called something like “Big Beautiful Pumpkin.” No matter. This bold, gorgeous paint is perfect for a cheerful, happy place, like a child’s bedroom, a kitchen, or a sun room. Baja Orange would also look great as an accent color, maybe painted on a mirror frame or in a recessed nook.

Ralph Lauren: Relay Red

Relay Red is a classic barnyard hue. It’s the color of turning leaves and cranberries. It’s kind of spicy but also muted and deep. This paint color is beautiful in just about any room of the house from bathroom to bedroom. We recommend that you combine this color with a soft cream and a gentle gray, or creamy beige and deep brown.
